With an objective to promote and familiarize safe and sustainable construction, building materials & technologies, an International Exhibition SAFECON-2019 kicked off in Dhaka on Thursday.
Powered by Savor International Ltd, the 4th edition of SAFECON is taking place at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC), Agargaon in city.
Engr. Mohammad Hossain, Director General (DG), Power Cell, Manas Kumar Mitra, President, ASHRAE Bangladesh Chapter, Shahjahan Mridha, Secretary General, Bangladesh-China Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCCI) attended the opening ceremony as special guests, among others.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, speakers said that the government recognizes that the pace of power development has to be accelerated in order to achieve overall economic development targets of the country and avoid power shortages.
While addressing, Mohammad Hossain, DG, Power Cell, said POWERGEN International Exhibition serves as a business and networking hub for generators, utilities and solution-providers engaged in multiple cross-sections of power generation.
He said networking is vital and the organiser is offering countless opportunities designed to help attendees maximise their experience with other colleagues and utility professionals.
Mohammad Hossain hoped that the exhibition will provide an interactive experience personalised to connect attendees with the latest technology and innovations in the conventional and renewable markets from around the world.
He believed that the exhibition will make a good start of the building construction, power, water, HVACR industry and will create a sustainable B2B interaction both for local and international renowned counterparts that will help industry to grow more and to compete globally.
Shahjahan Mridha, Secretary General, BCCCI, said SAVOR has created a unique networking platform for both Bangladesh and foreign participants to showcase their smart innovative products related to safe and sustainable construction, Safe HVACR, Renewable Energy, Water and Power to get mutual benefit through sharing technologies, ideas.
“It provides an excellent opportunity to assess opinions from clients and determine market potential, conduct research and evaluation, develop commercial structures by identifying new agents and distributors and initiating joint ventures”, he added.
While addressing, Chairman of Savor International Limited, Md. Aminul Islam believed that this exhibition will contribute the economy of Bangladesh by bringing the exhibitors from different parts of the world and will create a sustainable platform for the local and international entrepreneurs to showcase products and materials.
Brig. Gen. Ali Ahmed Khan, Psc, former director general of Bangladesh Fire Service & Civil Defense, Md. Hasmotuzzaman, MEP Consultant, Utility Professionals Secretary, ASHRAE Bangladesh Chapter and Faizul Alam, Managing Director, Savor International Limited were also present as special guests of this ceremony.

The exhibition is open for all the visitors till March 30, 2019 from10am to 8pm everyday.
Meanwhile the first day of the 3 day exhibition has been able to attract a host of visitors to the BICC venue.
Although many of the stalls and pavilions were incomplete to decorate and showcase their products on the first day.
Among the participants a good number of China based manufacturing companies have taken part in the exhibition.
Amber Zhou, representative of ICEAGE, a Chinese company told Bangladesh Post that she is visiting Bangladesh for the first time and she is enjoying the kindness and cordial behavior of people here.
“We are participating in the SAFECON fair aiming to familiarize our product and create a better market here in Bangladesh as because many of the related people will visit this exhibition”, Zhou said.
Leo, sales manager of ‘Sanze’, another Chinese company, hoped that participating this exhibition will help them familiarize their products widely in Bangladesh and also sharing experience with other similar type of companies from other countries.
Jessica Miao, general manager ‘XMK ‘ told Bangladesh Post that they have agency in Bangladesh which is doing well, but they are trying to expand its market here by popularizing their product and participating in this exhibition will help doing so.
Jessica said they produce high quality products and provide sincere service. The ECQ products include vacuum pump, Single Gauge, Manifolds gauge, Accessory (charging hose), Accessory (open valve and quick couplers), Tube cutter, Flaring Tool, HVAC spare parts, Capacitor, Shaded pole motor and fan, AC car spare parts, Filter, Refrigerant gas and Oil.
The exhibition is collocated with relevant segments named Powergen 2019, Renewable Energy Show 2019, Water Management Show 2019 and Safe HVACR (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning & Refrigeration) 2019.
