A 20km BRT route from Gazipur to airport is under implementation. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Shah Cement and Jiangsu Provincial Transportation Engineering Group Co Ltd in Dhaka recently for supplying cement in the Greater Dhaka Sustainable Urban Transport Project (BRT Gazipur-Airport). This project will implement 20km long BRT route, from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to Gazipur.
Once BRT project is in operation, it will carry 20,000 passengers per hour on each direction reducing travelling time by half of the present.
